Do you feel like Bio 100 should be evaluated at Hunter College?

makes one question if they are trying to make you fail or they are just trying to pick the most difficult questions with tricky wordings that even they have trouble with.

This course and its exams are a joke. The materials she goes over in class doesn't even sums up what is on the exams. Every time I sit down for a test I feel lost. No matter how much I study or how well I do in the labs (and the labs cover the same materials in the textbook) I feel stupid as soon as I open the exam book because the questions are formatted in a way that there can be multiple answers for one question.

This is ridiculous. Students shouldn’t have to chose their grades over their mental health.

This is a beginner level course I studied so hard but the exams weren’t equivalent to the lectures. Grading isn’t fair and there’s no support from the professors. Biology is something that’s so interesting and getting terrible scores really brings students down. And 600 kids ? I understand hunter is trying to save money and came afford more classrooms, but changing the curriculum or providing more support would be amazing for students. For hunter students come and go. But for students this is there life where mes school and graduate schools will look at it forever . It’s not fair

They decide to teach us like their phD classes and I'm sick of the teachers at this school. This is the road to your biology classes and your future. Stop trying to stress us in the beginning by reassuring us it gets easier. Help us out here!

Yes, this lady is a nightmare and makes it her mission to fail as many of us as possible while assigning us a $300 textbook

The exams are just ridiculous . Its just a guessing game and it tests you on your test taking skills rather than your knowledge on the content

This class is just to “weed” people out and tell them that this bio class determines whether they are to become a doctor or not. That’s isn’t fair and shouldn’t be like that.

I’ve studied religiously for the exams, still didn’t do well. If you say I didn’t study well enough, I’ll tell you that I have transcribed the lecture word for word and read the book. I made sure to understand the content and connect everything together. But the questions are like logic riddles. We should be provided with practice exams, and given back our old exams to LEARN from our MISTAKES. This class has made me depressed

I hope this actually pulls through and works. There are changes that need to be made regarding the organization and curriculum. The professors are gems but the tests are a bit too much for a freshman.

I feel the test for Bio 100 is a bit extreme especially with the multiple choice portion. No matter how much you study. It is just not enough and to some extend it affects a student mental an physical health because of this. There should be access to slides and previous exams examples to help instead of throwing it to the students. It is an introduction biology so its a new process for freshman and doing that doesn't help them. It affects a student GPA and their dreams to Med School just because it is a new process. We don't pay college to be mentally drained. This must change!

I find this class impossible the fact that there is a petition and several comments around the internet about this class saids a lot
