The topics learned in the professors slides doesn't relate to the quizs and exams for the most part. And most times the questions are things she has never went over. Her questions on exams and quizs are unfair with the time time we have 2 min per question goes by so fast and the questions are wordy. It doesnt relate to textbook questions it feels like I study the wrong material looking at the textbook since most questions are her own and we dont have other material to study, the TAs are doing more teaching than she is honestly and its frustrating.

As someone who transferred schools and took this class , her format and teaching skills is un reliable and left for you to fend for yourself. I believe that’s not how teaching especially a science course should go. They need more of us in the stem field why teach in such a discouraging way ?
I took this class 2 whole years ago, but I’m still paying the consequences. I lost all my test taking confidence. I see tricks in every test I take, I question every answer I give. I’ve lost chunks of hairs while taking 102, I stopped studying for all my other classes to focus on bio and I still couldn’t make any sense of many of the questions. This course is a disgrace.

Bio 100 shouldn’t be like taking an mCAT. There is a pandemic going on and this is added on stress. Teach us the material before testing us as if we were taking the mCAT.

This course is very dense and hard to keep up with considering other life events happening. The textbook is very dense and the lectures are very wordy. I feel as if I need to memorize every single word said to feel comfortable with the exams.

The material definitely does not prepare you for the exams. The questions are too complex and there are no practice tests.

It feels like grad level work! Way too hard for an intro or undergrad course. I mean theres a reason why so many people fail and the averages are so low! Definitely needs some evaluation because its out there crushing dreams and souls.

I gave up my entire summer just for this class. Studied every single day for more than five hours. And I got a c+. I learned a lot. But the exams are just way too harsh and affect my GPA

The professor is amazing and gives amazing lectures. However, the exams and quizes are impossible. There is no way to prepare for these and the information given in the lectures does not prepare you for the questions that will be thrown at you.

Absolutely twisted grading system, the lectures are in my opinion clear and actually well explained but the exams are written in such a way that you're practically expected to stumble over every question. Not only is it your typical trick question, but it’s a labyrinth of extra words. There is a difference between challenging students and pushing them to be better and confusing students and stripping them of any confidence. I studied everyday for hours, I changed my study habits, study style, attended tutoring classes. I tried everything to be better and to no avail. I look over the material and feel prepared, I feel like I understand the concepts and material. I am genuinely interested in Biology, and this class should most definitely be investigated because there is no reasonable explanation on how ridiculously its conducted.
