The state of Oregon's Public Employee Retirement Fund has $1 million invested in the Geo Group. The Geo Group is the private for-profit prison contractor running the Northwest ICE detention facility in Tacoma. They also transport all detainees from Portland to that facility. We are Oregon voters who do not support ICE''s unconstitutional and violent tactics. We value civil rights and the rule of law over profit. Blood money has no place in our bank accounts. We demand divestment now.

This feels incredibly unethical and opaque, to be investing state employees money in a company/companies that run contrary to what most Oregon state agencies and state policies say they stand for. Please DIVEST these funds now
Immigration detention should not be run the same as prisons. Our immigration system needs to be welcoming and humane. Immigrants deserve to not have the rules changed and then be accused of being criminals. They are integral parts of our communities. They are our neighbors. Stop funding for profit detention centers and ICE.
ICE is behaving very irresponsibly and causing harm to US citizens and innocent immigrants. I do not want my pension fund to support ICE
Thanks Monte, I didn't know. I think all investments should have a moral screen. CoreCivic and Geo Group should definitely be screen out.
These so called detention centers are akin to concentration camps. Gains derived from these stocks amount to blood money. It’s time to divest.
It is unconscionable that prayers would have investment with ICE. They separate our families and leave children with a single or no parent to support them. We need to pull any funding from ICE!!
I would never invest my money in this, and the fact that public employees’ funds are quietly being used in this way is abhorrent. Divest now!
