Having a period is a natural process that shouldn’t be a source of awkwardness for anyone and we want to ensure that no one faces period poverty.
Information:
- The average women spends 10 years menstruating in their lifetime.
- British women spend as much as £18,400 on their periods over the course of their lifetime.
- Costs associated with Menstruation can add up to around £400 annually
- Many women and girls find themselves in a position where they can’t’ access sanitary products, or can’t afford them.
- Many women take sickness absence during their period are afraid to discuss with their manager
- Due to stagnation of pay in the civil service our staff are unable to afford many essential items needed in their daily lives.
Our aims:
- Change attitudes toward periods.
- Free Sanitary products in the toilets for staff and visitors
- Education on Menstruation
- Awareness of the effects of ‘period poverty’
