I signed up with Hughesnet over the phone; no written contract. I was promised UNLIMITED data during that phone conversation. I was lied to. This is deceptive business practices. I also have poor service with frequent buffering.

As a Hughsnet former customer, I was not made aware of data caps they imposed when I was getting the sales pitch. And both before and after my speeds were no where near promised, and connecting more than 1 device to their WiFi was out of the question. They (Hughsnet) have breached the contract since day 1 and I feel something needs to be done.

Hughesnet not only provides terrible service, they lie about it too. Every month they reset my data and it's gone within 2-3 days, according to their tracking app. I have compared this to my Windows data tracker and I usually use less data than that for an entire month. They also raise their prices without notice and you don't get any benefit or protection by signing up for their 2 year contract. Everything is in their favor. This is a very dishonest company. I cant wait until my building approves another provider. They can't possibly be worse.

This company is a fraud. They mislead customers in every way. They charged my bank account without my authorization or without giving me any kind of prior notice of the charge. I never ever authorized them to do any kind of autopayment. When I called back so they can issue the refund every time I called they gave a different story. It's been over 2 months now and I still haven't gotten my money back.

Hughesnet is the worst provider I have ever seen or experienced, they give you great internet as first and then it's slowly decreased in speed, sometimes it is literally unusable on a clear calm and sunny day. Terrible internet providers all around.

Charged me for service that would not work. Horrible customer service basically admitted they are scammers. Trying to charge me a cancellation fee when the service was completely unusable.

I would like to start a class action lawsuit against these scammers. I was paying $70 a month for something I could not even use. The first thing I tried to download was Uncle Buck and it took hours! Anything I tried to download all it did was buff and stream. I called and called. They said the were tweaking but nothing changed. They finally called and said the would discount rate to $40 a month. $1 a month is too much if it don't work. They finally sent the same guy who installed it to work on it and he said it was miraculously "fixed". It took two days to download a one hour documentary. I stopped p as paying, they sent me boxes to send equipment and directions on how to dismantle the radio on the satellite with all kinds of warnings. I'm not about to get electrocuted unhooking their crap and it would cost me to have their idiots do it. These people have scammed enough people and I think it is time for us to take legal action!!!!!

Avoid Hughesnet at all costs! We have had them about 3 years. They were supposed to send someone out to give us all new equipment a year ago, and instead the guy straightened the cable in the back of the router. It worked for a little bit then kept getting worse and worse. When we called to have them look at it and do what they should have in the first place we were told it would be about $125 to have someone come out to our house. After explaining again about how they never fixed what they were supposed to the first time and that we didn't feel we should pay extra for them to finish what they were supposed to have done before they said we wouldn't have to pay for the service call or our next month's bill (this month). Today I saw that they took $110.12 out of our account. We were paying about $55 a month because the first guy gave us a reduced rate for a year because it was so horrible. I called to find out why were charged and to get my money back and they told me the best they could do was have us pay $5 for next months bill instead. I told them that did not cover the $110.12 they just took out and that that was the amount I wanted back. I got hung up on. I then called and got a manager. The manager said she could only refund $29 of the $110.12 and that she could give us a $10 discount on next months bill, not the $5 the other lady had mentioned. There was nothing else they could do about the money they took from us and they would not be able to give it back and are 'sorry' about that because it might have been a misunderstanding on our part. I asked her to playback the phone recording from that call and was told she didn't have time for that.

I have several complaints about Hughesnet. It has never worked properly. I have the modem in the living room and so is my Dish Hopper. Every 30 minutes or so we have to reset the internet on Dish. It took me an hour before I could connect with the internet this morning on my computer. I have called and called. BRING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE HOME. It sounded like a LOUD BAR when I called and I could barely hear the girl and I could barely understand her. Hughes net is horrible and their customer service is even worse.
