They are misleading from the very beginning! Their techs are even misleading. When they installed, they said we'd be able to stream Netflix. What a lie! The speed is so slow you can barely send email! They need to be shut down if they can't do any better for the high prices they are charging people!

Hughes Net is awful. You sneeze you don't have internet. It's so slow! You can't do anything without them showing it down.

We are hostages of Hughes Net and they know it. They can just as easily see what our options are as I can. And they see we have NONE! They are making millions and the service makes AOL look like cable internet.

Basically give them free $$$ for like 29 months and still they wanted me to stay for another year, when my contract was for 24 months. Worthless Internet.

This company lied and said they were the only service provider in the area! Something to the extent of that when the homes were built in this area they had a contract with the community to be the service provider. That might have been true in 2004 when the community was built. But that is not true anymore! Businesses Adobe and Oracle and Young living would not have their business in this location if they were the only Internet service provider. When asked about why this lie was made they indicated that this is all they were aware of. Clearly a lie! When I let them know that I would be switching to Veracity they questioned me as to what Veracity offered, which is none of their business. I wanted simply to transfer my service originally so that I could wait out the remaining one year of the contract they made me agree to. In order to move my service they said it would cost $250 and an additional year contract. It was already such a horrible service that I did not want to be stuck with it any longer. The one year remaining contract was a personal concession that I was willing to make with myself to not have to pay fees. I had signed up for the lowest price package of 59.99, every month but it was costing me over $110 every month. I asked for a cost breakdown and they told me that it broke down between the Internet, a phone line that I did not even actually request but thought was part of the small package, and renting the equipment. This is something that was not clear and I was made aware of at the onset. The service was never up to par and has been the slowest Internet I have had since the 90s. They claim that it is my fault for using too much data. I indicated that their lowest data is more expensive and has less data than other data plans with other service providers for more money. They told me that I cannot compare their service because they are very unique service. When I said I wanted to cancel they said I had to pay a cancellation fee of $350 and t

HughesNet has done nothing but false advertising. We had our issues from day one, called in every week and were stung along past or 30 days just so they could make us pay the cancellation fee.

Hughesnet is the absolute worst! We knew within 24 hours that this “service” was not going to work. Upon calling customer service, we were told that we have too many things connected and that we would have buffering unless we disconnect devices. When we signed up, we were assured the plan we got would be plenty for our dish boxes and multiple devices. Upon calling CS, we’re told the plan we have will only handle 2-3 devices. When we explained this and that we wanted to opt out of the service, we were told we have to pay $400????? You can but a house and still get back out in a certain amount of time. What in the world makes their service so amazing that they don’t have an opt out timeframe like almost everything else in the world? Maybe they don’t because their service is absolute crap! We’ve already gone over our data limit on our cell plan because we can’t be connected to our WiFi. The ISP we had previously was at least 15 years behind in technology and was a slow cable connection yet we rarely had connection issues and downloaded at SLOWER speed then what Hughesnet downloads. They are in breech of contract for not offering quality service. They lie about what you’re getting. They fail to mention that the satellite is the size of a VW Bug. I will do everything in my power to help another person not make the same mistake we made my going through Hughesnet.

We’ve had your service 2 months now and only one person can be online at a time. Worst service ever.

They are just big ripped off. They just keep adding and suggesting to upgrade. And they keep charging you even if you don't have internet at home. And charge an arm and a leg to cancel and different information everytime you call. Keep putting you on hold and nobody knows anything.im so tired and sick of them.

Hughesnet scammed us as well in believing there internet would suffice a family of 6. We were "out of fast speed data" it 1-3days

Nothing but a joke. The only reason we even have them is due to no other service provider in the area. We hardly even have cell service. We burn through 10g in 2 days. Didn't realize FB and e-mail use that much. As well we very rarely get 25 mbps. We average 2.8-12.0 mbps. In other words we don't even meet their promise of at least 60% which is 15 mbps. HughesNet. No comment. I'm not some poor sap who doesn't have a clue. I've installed Hughesnet as well as OIF Net in the middle of a damn war zone. I know all about the different variations and variables.
