Students of LCHS, The annual PENNY WARS are almost upon us!
Usually, this is a cause for much change-gathering and house comradery, all to benefit a charity, but this year, instead of going to a charity to benefit sick, starving, or abused children or other such causes, the administration of this school thought it would be a good idea to have that money go to Art ... around the Building. That does not mean art supplies for LCHS art classes, it simply means all of the hard-earned money donated to penny wars goes to, while nice, still completely unnecessary decorations in the school to show off to visitors and impress them with our esteemed curriculum. If art is really so desperately needed to decorate the school, there is plenty of high-quality student art generated by all of the art classes. While art can be a good thing, penny wars is not for “closing the gap”. Penny wars is a charity drive. While Liberty Common High School might be a non-profit, it is not a charity helping people in need with art. If you agree with this, please sign on the right to make your voice heard.
