The city finally committed to adopting the EPA recommendations for our water supply. I am exhausted by this fight but relieved that our health will finally be prioritized. We need to stay vigilant to ensure they actually follow through on these promises.

The city government of Pembroke Pines, FL led by Mayor Frank Ortis is resisting the recommendations of the EPA to effectively clean the cities water supply based on the findings of the EPA. The two contaminants out of compliance are TTHM and HAA5. The EPA has offered 3 possible solutions to bring the city's water into compliance. However, the city has chose to implement a $2.7 million project (ionic exchange unit (filter)) to simply make the water "clearer". This does nothing for the safety of the citizenry of Pembroke Pines. The purpose of this petition is to urge the City of Pembroke Pines to utilize the recommendations of the EPA.

Seeing the growth of this movement makes the long hours feel less hollow. I am bone tired but this level of public attention forces the city to acknowledge the reality of our water supply.

We need clean and useful water for our families. There was no money hesitation when the new city center was approved; this cost is much more than the water compliance. This is our health and future, do as the EPA recommended.
Pease remove TTHM and HAA5 from the water. Would rather pay more for water than deal with cancer and asthma, etc. Stop getting our water from Biscayne Bay and get it from the previous source
I'm starting to lose my hair because my skin becomes too dry; when I go to other cities I realize how my hair changes is brighter and smoother. After washing my hands I need to use lotion because my skin gets tight and dry.
Even though the water company came out and did test and said nothing is wrong, I know there is by the yellowish stains on paper towels, water left for watering plants, the toilet and sometimes the plastic containers.
Chemical-free water is crucial. This is a very serious situation. Crystal clear is not necessarily safe. Filters to remove the harmful chemicals, above all, and then, to improve the clarity, are of utmost importance.

I live at 1180 sw 189 ter, Pembroke pines. We need to take care of our city water issue. its not fair that we need to purchase water in order to be safe. Our children go to schools and drink this bad water. We pay more than enough taxes already, city should have taken care of this immediately.
