As of December 2019, tap water in Rahway is testing around 500 in terms of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in parts per million (PPM) depending on your home. TDS is the total amount of organic and inorganic materials, such as metals, minerals, and ions, dissolved in a particular volume of water. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) secondary drinking water regulations, 500 ppm is the recommended maximum amount of TDS for your drinking water.
Ideally Rahway would have an TDS between 300-400 TDS.
By signing this petition, you're acknowledging that there has been a noticeable difference in the overall quality of water in Rahway, New Jersey in a negative manner and would like to see an effort to change this by the municipality.

If I can taste the salted road runoff, what else is in my water that is not filtered or treated properly? This is absolutely not acceptable!
I wish when you turned the water on it didn't smell like being at the Y's pool. You cannot even cook with our water anytime of year. Growing up here in rahway, one of their WORST ideas was selling our precious water to a conglomerate that doesnt give a rats ass and is out after their bottom line, not us who consume their product.
Something has gone wrong these last couple of months. Never in over 30 years have I actually be able to taste the salt from the filtered water. Surely someone knows more about this than there are admitting.
We pay an incredibly high price for water that has become undrinkable. No way am I accepting that this high level of salt in the water is safe. For the first time in 25+ years living in Rahway the Brita filter is not cutting it and I am forced to buy bottled water. This is unacceptable.
Horrible water for drinking. I pay high price for water that can’t be drinkable and high property taxes over $12,000 a year. I shouldn’t have to buy my own water too. Not a happy Rahway home owner. Phyllis Padinha

We need clean drinking water! Also no fluoride!!

I moved to Rahway this year and the water quality is absolutely terrible. Our dishwasher is unusable. It affects our skin, and I have been having frequent stomachaches I attribute to the water. I've lived around the world and never had this issue. It's abominable that we have to pay for inadequate water.
