I've seen a lot of reports of the maintenance staff walking in on people during room inspections - in the shower, in bed - if anyone who's experienced this could sign to prove to the university that it has been happening, they might be persuaded to change how they're allowed to access our rooms.

The stories coming into my inbox about these intrusions are even more alarming than I first realized. I am currently compiling these accounts to hand directly to the administration because their continued silence on this violation of our privacy is unacceptable.

Reading through your stories about how these inspections have invaded your private space is honestly heartbreaking. Seeing this momentum grow reminds me that I am not the only one who feels unsafe in my own room. We finally have the proof needed to confront the university about these boundary violations.

Always coming in un-announced, i've been in the shower, in bed, not there, and it's not fair, the contract says we must be informed, not just a vague email, it's not hard to coordinate and stick to a time frame, especially if you're just gonna go waltzing in to any ones room without announcing yourselves.
Maintenance knocked, I was in bed unwell and asked them to return another time. They exclaimed they had to come in now and walked in, only to look at my door frame to ensure it was okay?

In bed with tonsillitis and no clothes (as is perfectly acceptable in my own bedroom) when a maintenance guy walks in without knocking. Absolute joke, what happened to privacy?
