I want to provide my family with healthier food, I'm trying to become one day a master gardener, organic of coarse. I want to be as self reliant as possible and know where my food comes from.....

A lot of states have changed their ordinances, including NY & areas with limited space. I understand not allowing Rousters as they can be noisy but hens, come on RI, catch up with the rest of the green earth

I live in Warwick, my yard is huge & private and my 2 neighbors love the idea. I want to raise hens to provide my family with fresh eggs and its a great experience for my kids.

I would like chickens, I am in Cranston, and I know there are people in the area with them, if it is good for one, it should be good for all!

We are not looking to reinvent the wheel. We are looking to have the same opportunities available to us as many other Rhode Islanders have. The opportunity to know where our food is coming from and know that the animals are being treated well. Many of the cities and towns of Rhode Island have changed their policies on keeping 'micro flocks' without any problems arising from it. There is no reason Warwick can not do the same.

In this economy it is a wise decision to grow vegetable gardens and raise your own chickens for eggs. It is also a vital tool for today's children to learn about something more important than an iPhone or a superman movie. Please bring us back where we belong. Let us eat healthy and raise our children the right way, so they will learn respect and love for animals and be able to experience the feeling of pride when they carry in their breakfast eggs....help us to help our children have a better future.

I agree with many here. We have a right to grow our own food in gardens or buy at local markets or a farmers market. Same should be for chickens. Those that chose to buy at the store can, others may want fresh eggs from their own chickens, so as they know where the eggs came from.

With there being an egg shortage and eggs being over $4 a dozen, we should be able to keep a few chickens. It is our right as taxpayers.

It is every mans right to provide for his own food. Banning chickens is a gross overreach of local government.
