I'm tired of hearing about colleges paying millions of dollars to coaches, making grotesque revenues off of players and only giving them what they do. Colleges should be paying them, as they are subjected to long days and hours, hard work, and risk injury. Certain sports, such as football have a high risk of brain trauma. These kids work hard and play hard, they should be rewarded for their work. Without them revenues would depreciate astronomically!!!
I think a compensation in the form of health insurance for life and disability insurance would be good got the players in football. It would be a good starting point.
Playing a sport in college is an academic disadvantage at least in the capacity that a student athlete has less time to study. The fact that our society mandates that student athletes not be compensated for their time and risk is un-American, un-capitalistic, and despicable. The market place needs to be relieved of the no compensation constraint in order to protect student athletes.
I think these athletes bring in unreal amounts of money to the institutions and its an affront onto decency and common sense to not take care of them financially.
The NCAA are scam artist who created the term student athlete to avoid paying grievances to a players wife who died playing football and used it to trick us into thinking that college athletes are amateur athletes who don't deserve payment, its time for that to stop

College athletes should get at least some pay, I'm sure the colleges can afford to lose some of their profit money to give to the hard working athletes, after all, they do risk their lives on the field every day. Many college athletes have died on the field and so have High school athletes. At least a little income is help for their future and their families.
