Rules may be rules but as this man, who has been part of the market for a very long time, can no longer be under any illusion about the seriousness with which they're taken the market authorities should give the stall a last chance. It's the goodwill of the customers and the people who signed the petition which keeps the the market going. All I am saying is give peas a chance!

This is awful - let him stay - he sells quality produce, free of plastic packaging and is part of old Brighton

Charlie Mears stall is legendary. Leave Pat alone and let him carry on doing what he does best!

Gosh when will we see all our old traders trading it's a shame they are all getting squeezed out. We must support our local traders it's what makes shopping interesting. Has been going for years. l remember shopping at mears with my mum. Soon we won't have any shops it will all be in line how boring

The best place for good quality affordable veg right in the heart of Brighton. Used to shop here with my Mum from the sixties onwards and now I'm a pensioner. Save the stall! Best in Brighton.!!!

Please let Pat stay. He is a good person and doesn't deserve to be treated like this.

I would like to hear the councils reasoning on this. Are there plans to develop the open market in the future? Is this just an excuse to clear the traders.

This decision is disproportionate. He should be provided with suitable access to his work.
