the bill passed and we actually did it. thanks to everyone who jumped in to back this effort because i know it wasnt always easy to get the word out. now we just have to keep an eye on things to make sure the change sticks.

Please support this bill. All it does is take the patchwork quilt of laws across the state and unify them so everyone understands them. Its a hassle where someone from one part of the state travels or moves to another part of the state and has to worry about local laws that they may or may not have had before. The county line between Douglas and Sarpy Counties is a classic example. Harrison st. North side of the st have to register their guns since its Omaha. Residents on the South side of the St dont have to becuase its Belview. Very ridiculous. Support LB289 and make the laws the same whether its Omaha or ScottsBluff. Ne
This would simplify issues that LEGAL CHP holders face, what is legal in one city, could possibly not be legal in other. All this does is put everyone on the same page. And save those of us who legally carry, a potential legal nightmare.
Both my father and husband fought for this country and the Constitution. They are both Wounded Warriors. There service and sacrifice and that of veterans and service members should not be in vain. Please support this bill and the Constitution.
The constitution is in question if LB289 does not receive the logical support by our elected representatives. The state grants cities and municipalities certain powers the same way the United States grants powers to the Federal Government. These cities and municipalities are exceeding their span of control and must be held accountable for not complying with our state constitution.
Everyone possible needs to sign onto this petition, in a show of force FOR the signage and passage of LB289. Taking away the preemptive abilities of political subdivisions like Lincoln and Omaha is whats needed to lesson the carry restrictions in Nebraska.

Cities creating their own laws has the potential to trap citizens who travel into the municipality with different laws. We shouldn't be making criminals out of law abiding citizens who travel to different cities with different laws than the state. Thank you.
