It is our great hope that you agree with these principles and will endorse the Parents’ Rights in Education Proclamation.
Dear Thornapple Kellogg School Board Members,
2020-21 has been a year full of uncertainty and unprecedented changes in every aspect of life, especially K-12 education. Parents/guardians of school age children need reassurance from you personally, that their parent/child relationship is crucial to their child’s success in school.
With a show of good faith through the adoption of this Parents’ Rights in Education Proclamation, parents/guardians will gain confidence that you fully support their rights in educational settings. This also affirms your belief that parents/guardians do have a vital role in the collaborative partnership between families, schools, and administrators.
Please join our effort to officially recognize November as Parents’ Rights in Education Month.
I have been spending so much time looking over the notes you all left on the petition page and honestly it is just overwhelming to see so many families wanting the same thing for their kids. There is a lot of back and forth happening with the board members right now behind the scenes because they are clearly seeing that we are watching them very closely.

So glad someone is standing up for us. Parents definitely need more of a say in what happens at school.
