Final supporters
Parents and carer adviser service for the last 32 years supported parents and carers who have children and adult with learning disability in tower hamlets. The service offers emotional and counselling through experienced professionals during parents difficult time dealing with diagnosis, crisis, stages of transitions, pre-bereavement even helping families toweds bereavement situation. The support increase parental confidence and help them overcome the critical situation. This is only an unique service whole in UK. The ELFT current consultation proposed to delete the service without review the needs of the disabled families. The same thing happened in 2014. Families of the most vulnerable are never considered when making cuts because management feels they cannot fight back. Please sign our petition to save this vital service and protect the welfare of the most vulnerable in society. We want the parents and carers service (PCAA) to continue.

The leadership at ELFT thinks these families will just roll over and accept the destruction of this vital service. My inbox is full of messages from parents who are terrified about losing their only lifeline and I am taking every single one of those stories directly to the board.

I run an advice session for parents of disabled children at John Smith Children's Centre in London E1 which is always busy. I admire the unpaid work they do under extreme pressure. The help Parent Advisers provide to them is equally commendable.
This service is enormously valuable. It would be counterproductive to discontinue it, leaving families at risk of breakdown and the children / adults with learning disability and often additional complex problems at risk of being taken into council funded care, and also losing a skilled and experienced team. Please review.
This service is so needed . Drop it and you will see costs rise in other areas of healthcare more so than you spend here. Find another way
We want the service to continue, I have a child with disability as a family we have benefitted through this service.
It would be very upsetting if this facility were stopped it benefits me so much as I feel when I attend I have someone to talk to
Parents in need needs support, this is absolutely ridiculous for trying to snatch this away.
Do allow it to remain. Parents and carers need this support.

As a local GP since 1983, who also has family members with severe learning difficulties, I am very aware of the serious impact this can potentially have on mental and physical health of family members as well as on the person with learning difficulties and how important support and advice can be
