The Paralympic coverage on CTV and CBC over the years have been disappointing. The Paralympians work equally as hard as the Olympians to represent their respective countries, and deserve the same coverage as the Olympics. The athletes have overcome many obstacles and deserve more respect. Paralympic sports need to be given equal viewing coverage as the Olympics, these athletes are no different than Olympians and quite often they are MORE inspiring. Countries like England and the BBC have carried the Paralympics for decades. Just because these athletes are disabled doesn't mean that it wouldn't gain interest. It would open many peoples eyes and allow future generations to be accustom to seeing disabled people in the media achieving great things; therefore changing peoples attitudes, assumptions & prejudices towards people with disabilities.
