Please sign our petition to have the rims & backboards reinstalled at the PT Phase 1 Basketball Courts. The backboards and rims were taken down on May 10th for yearly maintenance to repair and repaint and residents were told they would be returned to the courts as soon as possible. Since then in an email from Monica (Facilities Director - CDD Phase 1) she stated, "The Board decided at the May 24th Board of Supervisors (BOS) meeting to entertain making some changes to the courts. They are looking to make improvements that will benefit the residents, and discourage use by nonresidents. The Board is planning to have this discussion at the June 28th BOS meeting. We are trying to verify a quorum for that meeting. If there is not, then it will be discussed at the meeting on July 26. Residents are encouraged to attend the meetings."

So the summer will be almost over before the Board even discusses this?! Please sign this petition urging the Board to place the rims/backboards back up prior to the next meeting so that the kids can again enjoy playing basketball and utilizing the facilities that we ALL pay for collectively.

I live in Stratford right across the street. Please bring them back soon. My son is 11. He and his friends go play on the weekends. They need somewhere to play.

As a homeowner and HOA payer, taxpayer and CDD payer I'm bothered with the slow progress of returning the basketball goals for which are part of the amenities we pay for. This reduces activities for our community and kids.

Please put the backboards back up. It's a great community feature that allows a broad cross-section of our youth to engage in healthy competition and productive physical activity. It's such a pleasure to sit and watch them play and have a good time. It helps foster our sense of community. I miss seeing all the kids out there!

I agree, the rims and backboards need to be replaced. I see all kids of all ages and even families out there - it is missed. I rather give the neighborhood kids something to do than to "create" their own entertainment.

WE pay for the amenities, including the basketball courts, WE should decide if we want them or not. I feel taking them down was deceptive, as we were initially told it was for maintenance. If there's a problem with people from other areas using the courts, have security check for gate cards, or have PT residents have badges made.

I absolutely support bringing back the basketball hoops and rims. My boys also enjoy spending time there. With summer on our heels, this neighborhood benefit should be reinstated for the kids. As well as the fact that we are all paying for this amenity!

Basketball is an outlet for many youth to stay out of trouble including my own son. We are residents of PT and would like to see the goals put back up!! ASAP!!!

If you take the basketball courts away, then the tennis court, baseball field, etc should all be dismantled. Why is this being done?
