Dear California State Legislator,
We, the undersigned, California residents support paid sick days for working Californians. Over 6 million California workers do not get any paid sick days through their employer. Many California workers are forced to make a hard choice when they or their children become sick.
Workers have to choose between losing a day’s wages or maybe even their job if they’re going to stay home to take care of themselves or their children. Workers may have to go to work sick or send their kids to school sick. This isn’t a fair choice. Paid sick days should be a right and not a privilege.
The proposed California paid sick days legislation would allow workers to accrue paid sick days that can be used to care for themselves, a sick family member, or to recover from an abusive situation. San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Milwaukee all have sick day laws.
California has been a leader on many issues. We should be the leader on paid sick days. California should pass paid sick days legislation.

The state legislature is finally feeling the heat because of the momentum we have built together. These politicians can no longer ignore the six million workers who are tired of choosing between their paychecks and their health.

common sense. let people recover so they can get back to work faster and not spread germs everywhere.
NOBODY should have to go to work when they are sick. its unsanitary and unfair to the people around them. pass this now!
its crazy that people have to choose between keeping their job or taking care of a kid with the flu. this should have been law years ago
finally. sick of losing pay every time i get a cold.
my boss actually fired me once because I had to stay home for my daughters surgery. this is long overdue for all of us

I been working for 20 years and never had a single paid sick day. if you get sick you just dont get paid. time for this to change
