Sick days are an industry standard benefit, within almost every industry, including games.

This is a petition to ask for the introduction of paid sick days. A possible way this could work could be 10 paid sick days, per year, per person. A sick day could be paid the same as a holiday day, which means 8 hours Monday to Thursday and 7 hours on a Friday, at your usual hourly rate. Sick days would not roll over into the following year and if someone uses up all 10 days, they will need to use their holiday days, or not get paid, or work from home.

This will allow anyone who is feeling unwell time to rest and recover. Under the current system you can either take a sick day out of your holiday pool, or take it unpaid, or work from home. This puts pressure on people to work even when they are not feeling well enough for it, making them less productive and their recovery longer. It also incentivises people who don't have a home set up to come into the office, infecting more employees/placing the health of other employees at risk and further impacting productivity.
