Currently, our Canadian government legally requires employers across Canada to give a minimum of two (2) weeks (or 10 days) paid vacation to their employees. This is NOT enough, not nearly enough. Many Canadians work for companies that give just the bare minimum when it comes to paid vacation time and it's LEGAL. In many cases as well the vacation time NEVER increases regardless of how long an individual has been working for a company. This type of working environment creates unhappy, unhealthy employees.
I would like to demand the Canadian government to increase the minimum legally required paid vacation days. Minimum twenty-five (25) days paid vacation for ALL full time employees across Canada regardless of years of service. Minimum 25 days paid vacation upon date of hire. For the currently employed, if they do not yet have 25 days paid vacation, then they automatically get the 25 days.
Come on Canada! Let's join the ranks of Austria, Denmark, Finland (min. 30 Days paid vacation...), France (same as Finland...), Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Sweden...
To the Government of Canada: Would you like a happier, healthier work force? Then PLEASE increase the minimum legally required paid vacation days.
It is time we Canadians take our lives back!

ABOUT TIME. Its ridiculous that we get less time off than almost every other developed country.
For my mind and body to healthy this is a requirement.

10 days is barely a week and half off. Burnout is real and we deserve better than this.
