We, the undersigned, firmly believe that children are our most valuable resource. We believe that children have a right to a fully funded public school system. We believe that state budgets should not be balanced on the backs of children. Governor Thomas Corbett has proven by his deliberate underfunding of local public schools that he is not concerned for the welfare of Pennsylvania children. He has caused the children of Philadelphia and Chester-Upland School Districts to suffer from a lack of necessary services, and there is no reason to believe that it will stop there and that all Pennsylvania School Districts are not in jeopardy under his supervision. Therefore, we, the undersigned, have no confidence in the ability of Mr. Corbett to fulfill his duty to ensure a thorough and efficient system of public education for our children.
