We, the undersigned, are customers of Ovusoft and have purchased Toni Weschler's book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility. As long-time members of the related message board at Ovusoft.com, together we have shared years of family building, infertility, loss, and parenting. We have made lasting friendships and have built a sisterhood. In recent weeks, the Administrator of the site has attempted to break those bonds by banning loyal members from the site. When challenged for a reason, the Administrator fabricated an excuse that there was some legitimate danger or threat to the safety of other members. This is false. When pressed further, the Administrator then claimed the danger was to herself and her child. This is also false. We surmise the real reason the Administrator has taken this destructive action is to squash any challenge of her decision or policy making, no matter how questionable. To add insult, she has recently convinced Gene Grant of her false claims and Mr. Grant posted a statement on the website that was inaccurate, hurtful and libelous. Countless members have attempted to contact Mr. Grant without success. There are scores of members who were banned for no discernible reason. They no longer have access to their private message box, their journals, their buddy groups and more. After many years, they were cut off suddenly and without warning. It is unknown whether this Administrator has manufactured private messages or posts to further her claim, but it is probable as many members who were banned have discovered there has been activity within their individual accounts on days they didn't have access. Compounding the distrust, the Administrator refuses to respond to anyone, regardless of membership status, when asked for the specifics of these permanent bans. Additionally, the Administrator refuses to delete accounts of those she banned, despite multiple requests, stating that a member must be "in good standing" to have their account deleted. Ovusoft was a thriving community with women of all kinds. There was the occasional dust-up between members, but grown women are perfectly capable of sorting such issues without interference. Even in times of minor discord, it was working. And now it doesn't because the few long-standing members who are left there aren't free to post without censure, without being edited, without being put on "moderated status." There is anger, there is outrage and there is good reason. The actions of this Administrator have destroyed the community and she is not being truthful about how and why this occurred. We, the undersigned, are the customers who made this site possible. We are asking for change. We are asking that our friends be reinstated and that free speech be encouraged in our community. We are the users of the book and software and we are the people who refer our thousands of friends to such products every year. Our voices should matter.
