We, the undersigned, believe that Oro Valley should explore the possibility of licensing and humanely returning lost dogs and cats to loving homes, instead of contracting for licensing and impounding lost animals with Pima County, which kills over 60% of the animals that enter its facility.

Refining our proposal for a local animal welfare program requires a thorough examination of current municipal contracts. I appreciate the continued influx of personal accounts regarding lost pets and will incorporate these experiences into my formal presentation for the town council.

The level of support for this cause has surpassed my initial expectations. It is clear that our community feels a profound responsibility to protect these animals. This collective focus will provide a strong foundation as we approach the local council.
