There have been an extensive amount of car accidents that have occurred in recent years due to the unfortunate choice that some drivers choose to text while driving. In August of 2009, 17 states as well as the District of Columbia, have took the initiative to ban text messaging for all drivers. This should be a law in every state. It's a critical problem that needs tended to immediately. Careless drivers who choose to text while operative a vehicle are rapidly killing innocent people because of such a foolish choice. I'm certain nobody desires to bury their loved one because of another's irresponsibility. Let's step up and show America that WE want this to stop. We need this to become a law. There should be fines given, and after too many warnings, further consequences should be enforced upon the drivers. Please don't wait until it happens to you or a loved one to stand up.
