Lunch outdoors is safer for the kids.

I am all for outdoor lunches!!

We would like our children to eat lunch outside at Bandelier Elementary for their health and safety. Thank you!

We’ve all seen the data so far. The delta variant is not only able to infect kids at a higher rate than the previous variants, but also causes more severe symptoms including hospitalizations. We have also begun to see school closures due to high covid-positive cases in the short period of time since the school year started. We should be doing all that we can to keep our unvaccinated kids safe especially since we are dealing with a significantly different variant than last year. We CAN NOT assume everything will be OK just because we had limited success towards the end of the 2020-21 school year. Again, this is a different beast. And we most certainly shouldn’t be taking away the precautions put in place last year, like random testing and outdoor lunches.

This is a no-brainer! Why does it even need a signed petition?

Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, and administrators at Bandelier for supporting our kids through the ongoing challenges brought on by the pandemic. With the delta variant sweeping through our community, I hope that outdoor lunches can be offered once again to minimize the risk of exposure to everyone involved and protect our whole Bandelier community.

This only makes sense and since they had this guideline at the end of last school year, should be able to implement fairly easily.

Seems like a relatively easy option to reduce COVID spread.

This is a great idea and seems easy enough to implement! Thank you for doing everything you can to keep the children and staff safe. Being outdoors is just so healthy and important in maintaining strong immune systems! We appreciate you!

I'm a grandma of two girls attending Bandelier and if helps control the Covid until fall or maybe just eating in their classrooms too.

This is a no brainer given the rise in cases due to the delta variant and the fact it seems to be hitting children harder than other variants. Let’s keep our kids in school by doing what we can to limit exposure. Let the kids eat outside. Not sure why they aren’t in the first place.

Recreation is a key part of education. I know everyone is doing their best. Please add this to the return to school plan.
