Hi All,

As most of you will know the announcement that Rita Trovato has decided to retire this year was a bit of a shock to the system.

Again as most of you know Megan Tolsher, the deputy principal will be filling this roll temporarily whilst a placement is found, but after some discussion with a minority of parents I think everyone is hoping that Megan will fill the gap for us.

My experience with Megan Tolsher has only been for the last 4 years, I have found her to be a dedicated and passionate teacher first and a deputy principal second, I believe Megan has the capacity to do the job effectively and am sure Megan has no plans to retire yet, plus it would be better to get someone for the job that knows the BHPS intrinsically.

Given that the Department will start or has started recruitment process, I thought it would be good if the parent body could get behind Megan by completing a petition that we can submit to the north west region director/superintendent, this would not guarantee Megan getting the job but if the director is aware the school supports her then it would go a long way.

In the coming days I will leave a petition sheet at the front office, as well as canvassing the school parent population at drop off and pick up for your signatures, as well as setting up a petition online at Ipetition.com.

Regards

Lucas Hirst
