Petition To the Ontario Taekwondo Association, The Board of Directors of the Ontario Taekwondo Association, has seen fit to call a members meeting on a weekday, July 16th / 2007 in Ottawa. This meeting has been called at a time and place that is inconvenient to the majority of the membership and will make it extremely difficult for the majority of members to attend. These meetings have always been held in a central location in the past and certainly never in Ottawa. Further, the notice for this meeting is required to specify the general nature of the business that is to be transacted at the meeting. The notice that was given is too vague and does not comply with the requirement. We the undersigned therefore ask the board of the Ontario Taekwodo Association that; a) the scheduled members meeting of the Ontario Taekwondo Association in Ottawa on July, 16th 2007, be cancelled and re-scheduled to a more convenient time and place for the majority of the members of the Ontario Taekwondo Association and/or that the Ontario Taekwondo Association allow all eligible OTA voting members who cannot travel, or get off work, to be able to vote by proxy on all matters that will be brought before the board at this meeting and all future meetings of this type. In this way the majority of members will still be able to exercise their voting rights now and in the future. b) the agenda and purpose for this meeting and all future meetings of this type, be more clearly defined to allow members to make an educated and informed vote on all matters that may be brought forward.
