Whereas The Orchard Park Town Board recently enacted a policy to have only one (1) Town Board Meeting meeting with open public forum per month, and whereas this meeting is scheduled to take place the 4th Wednesday of each month, then I the undersigned Town of Orchard Park, New York resident stand in opposition to the aforementioned policy and hereby demand that the Orchard Park Town Board rescind its recent action and reinstate Town Board Meetings with open public forums to two (2) meetings per month.

Updates

January 23, 2011

I have spent my evenings reading the stories you shared about why you feel silenced by this new meeting policy. My front porch is becoming a hub for neighbors who just want their concerns heard by our local officials. I am currently mapping out our next steps to ensure the board understands that we will not be ignored.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my neighbors care just as much as I do about having a seat at the table. This momentum proves that we refuse to be sidelined at our own town meetings.

what are they hiding? if they have nothing to hide they should be happy to talk to the taxpayers twice a month. get with it.

one meeting a month is totally ridiculous. we deserve to be heard more than that. change it back now.

Living here for 20 years and this is just another way to shut us out. Let us speak at every meeting like usual.
