Final supporters
We oppose the proposed casino to be built in our community. I ask that the Ridgecrest City Council reject the offer for the sale of lands North of Ward Ave and East of China Lake Blvd as proposed. I further ask that the city council reject any municipal service contract at this time. The potential negative effects outweigh the positive impacts especially when placed in contrast with the recent decision to close our local jail. We feel proceeding with the existing resources will have a negative effect on the quality of life in this community.

Seeing this kind of movement in our neighborhood reminds me why I fought for this home in the first place. My heart is heavy seeing how many of you feel the same fear about our streets and the future of our town. This momentum proves that the people living here have the final word on what happens to our land.

Seeing one hundred people put their names behind this effort feels overwhelming. My family has called this neighborhood home for years and I truly believe this project will change our streets forever.

Too Close to the base where Young Patriots who live in housing or barracks May Dwindle their Hard Earned paycheck on Gambling and or Alcohol Not Good!! What are they thinking??!
I love Ridgecrest so much! It is my hope that my family and future generations to come will live in city well rooted in integrity, surrounded with safety and with hopes for a greater future. I say NO to the proposed casino. There are other means to gain revenue for our city. Not willing to give it all up for a bowl of soup.
In addition, In light of the critical aquifer overdraft designation by the State, it is foolish to encourage large developments. This will throw us further into non-compliance and toward invasive State actions on our Valley water.
Casinos take business away from other recreational businesses such as theaters and restaurants. The City of Ridgecrest should not spend a dime to promote the development of a casino. If it is economical, the private owners should fit the bill. No incentives should be paid by the City from taxpayer's funds.
Having previously lived in communities where Indian Casinos have been built I know from experience that the costs of a casino to a community far outweigh the supposed benefits, most of which are never really seen by the communities hoping for them.
Don't need it don't want it
Bringing a casino to Ridgecrest will ultimately bread depravity in our community. I'm strongly against it.

I don't think enough has been considered about the fallout. Drug trafficking, human trafficking , prostitution. It's real. It happens a lot in our city already. If you're in your homes at 8pm you won't see it but if you're out after 11 it going on.
