Opposition to Commercial Zoning for the City of Oak Hill

Any proposal for commercial development is a fundamental breach of faith by Oak Hill's elected officials.

I am opposed to the approval of this ordinance.

While Austin McMullen and Jennifer Claxton claim that "limited commercial zoning on Old Hickory Boulevard" was approved in a scientific poll, in fact they propose giving us intense commercial and high density multifamily residential zoning along both Old Hickory Boulevard and Franklin Pike. Having attempted to take the "survey," I can tell you that it was in no way scientific as McMullen claims, but rather was a push poll carefully designed to lead to the outcome they desired.

Let us protect not only our residential character but also our green spaces.

Absolutely no commercial development within the city of Oak Hill. Let's not open that door! Too many greedy developers lurking, just waiting for our zoning laws to change.

Address is 5621 Hillview Drive. After decades of being similar to Forrest Hills and Belle Meade, changing Oak Hill to allow commercial is a mistake with long-term ramifications. Trust in Oak Hill will evaporate. Treat all residents equally and equitably by reducing free services and adding a property tax that includes all.

Absolutely oppeosed to ANY type of commercial developement within Oak Hill. Its absolutely ridiculus to think that there are not better options to resolving the finacial situation. A small annual tax and/or some reduction in the city ervices seems far more reasonble with virtually little or no consequences to the good well being of our city.

Address is 5621 Hillview Drive. The possibility of allowing commercial zoning is a serious mistake for Oak Hill. It goes completely against what has made Oak Hill so attractive. Opening this door will lead to more and more commercial in decades to come. Find other ways to replace revenue or reduce expenses.

Ms. Claxton, I voted for you and put your sign in my yard because I believed you (foolishly? I sincerely hope not) when you wrote "I am committed to preserving the residential character and integrity of Oak Hill." What has changed, or were you lying? Please, vote against this 100-acre monstrosity and protect the beautiful homes and land in question. Thank you.
