Opposition to the construction of McDonalds at the ex council offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh

if this goes ahead it shows the council do not care about the health of the residents of eastleigh as it is well nowne these types of food are bad fore you

how about a golf range to replace the one we are about to loose in Chandlers Ford. At least its healthy and will not diminish the area.

We have no sacred parks for children to just enjoy , I agree with all the opposition points especially how it's well know fast foods draw children . Why on earth would you put any fast food chain next to a leisure centre and park which promotes health and activity for children . 110 per cent against We need children to have safe environments to play to be able to go the parks without their parents when of an age ( it could invite undesirable people to monitor children and cause problems and even worse ..

Is that really the most imaginative option EBC could come up with? Why not retain an interesting and vibrant creative community instead of another identikit fast-food outlet?

As a Vegan, I'd like to see at least a more healthy option situated in that area and to be locally grown. Let's end the era of the big firms. As another alternative ask the public what they would like to see in that location e.g a park, education centers, or even extend the trees and just do that. Communicate with the people who pay council tax on a regular.

besides the mentioned objections I believe that the ex office site could/should be developed in a way to provide amenities which will stimulate leisure and recreational visitors and will further Eastleigh's ambitions to tackle climate change.

It is not clear how this proposed construction is going to meet the needs of the Eastleigh residents. Has any research been done about this ?

We have enough cafes in Eastleigh to cover most of Hampshire already, and as for McDonalds the company should be consigned to the refuse bin of history

All that's guaranteed with this development is more rubbish and more traffic to the area

We have enough fast food restaurants in the area our kids and the future generations need to be shown a better way let's show them and put something into this space that wold benefit them and not this.......!!!

We do not need any more fast food outlets in Eastleigh... Especially not next door to the new leisure centre. Also the traffic in the area around Leigh Road and Passfield Avenue is horrendous already.. The leisure centre will generate more traffic when built... At the moment emergency services struggle to get through This delaying response times .. So definitely NO....... Someone getting a good payoff to get this approved... government are trying Tom reduce obesity and get individuals to be more health conscious .. Not eat junk food and sugar laden coffees !!!!!!!!

I think this space could be better used. Housing for example. It seems we don't have enough.

I live on Leigh road and I oppose this development. Eastleigh already has too many fast "food" outlets. These businesses literally cause cancer, diabetes and obesity. The minimal rates and tax they pay will never cover the treatment of the diseases they are causing now and in the future. They must be stopped.

We don't need another fast food outlet its also Ill placed as will attract boy racers etc Leigh rd will become a drag strip and will cause noise pollution to local residents

The council and planning authority have a duty of care to the residents of this community. These organisations have no interest in the long term health and well-being of our community. They care about addiction and profits.
