Opposition to the construction of McDonalds at the ex council offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh

This will give too much traffic on an already congested road, why put a fast food outlet directly next to a leisure centre, so much in the news about obesity, have a duty to promote health eating and healthy living.

McDonalds instead of housing? are you kidding NO, NO, NO Housing first please.

Surely we should not be encouraging more fast food outlets. Agree with most sentiments about litter and congestion. Housing, sports or activities or Commercial activities are preferable.

Eastleigh doesn't need any more junk food outlets. The idea that people could drop down from the motorway for a quick bite sounds like a traffic nightmare. Housing would make more sense in that location.

We don't need another fast food outlet and we don't want motorway drivers coming down to what would be another service station and adding to the congestion on Leigh Road. We could do with a running track though.

EBC is offering health walks and working with NHS on health checks so it seems contrary to policy to invite yet more fast food outlets on to land which is in public ownership.

We have enough coffee and junk food places already. The amount of overweight children -and their families -walking round Eastleigh is overwhelming. Why not build something that will help families spend time together, burn some calories and have fun at the same time: an Ice Ring!!

Please no more fast food outlets - there are plenty in Eastleigh. Let's have a bit of imagination. I would love to see independent retail shops or a covered market.

I oppose the introduction of any fast food outlets, not specifically McDonalds. I am particularly concerned about the public health effects of additional convince food outlets. The last thing should promote is a trip to Fleming Park for the children's swimming lessons followed by a drive through fast food dinner.

A McDonalds next to your new, flagship health centre and your newly-rejuvenated community parkland? Really??? Is your thinking really not that joined up? Why not try to think of something that will benefit the local community and not the profits of a US corporation that peddles obesity and diabetes? Or are you just thinking about the rent......

Another fast food outlet would only encourage more uhealthy eating habits and also increase the amount of litter flying around.

Not a good site with regard To traffic chaos and not a good idea do close to M3 where East bound traffic cannot rejoin the motorway at this junction.

More moves to kill town centre!

We do not need any more junk food outlets in Eastleigh. We need craft and sports facilities with healthy cafes and meeting places attached. How will another McDonalds help improve the health of our children and ourselves.

Eastleigh Councillors on the planning dept THINK VERY CAREFULLY before you allow this planning application to go ahead. We need affordable homes not take away's and large unaffordable houses, not everyone can afford these large mansions. REMEMBER THINK VERY CAREFULLY, DO NOT GRANT THIS APPLICATION!

There are already traffic congestion problems on Leigh Road without adding greater traffic volume. Fast food outlets add nothing to the community other than litter and health problems

I lived in fair oak, and can fully understand the opposition, dont spoil it!!! It wouldnt be right.
