I though PSEG was going to save us money. I believe that is what Govenor Coumo said. Rates are already too high on Long Island and they are driving away business and our young people.
LI electric rates are one of the highest in the US. Are we still paying for Shoreham? That was LILCO's mistake almost 30 years ago.
Can anyone explain why PSEG-LI asks for a rate increase so soon after the last election ? Does something look curious about the timing ? They could have asked for the increase before the election too, yes?
My previous email went flying before I finished. What I am saying is that I cannot afford the cost of living and the electric and gas for my home with my income cut in half with the death of my husband. PSEG promised they would not raise their rates, and, of course, a rate increase is almost the 1st thing they have done.
As an Executive for a mid-sized company, we struggle with the Costs on LI, with utility costs being a significant cost item to our operations. Further rate increases will have a significant impact on our competitiveness and ability to retain jobs on LI.
A lot of people struggle to pay their bill now. How do you expect anyone not to be sitting in the dark if rates go higher?

As a senior citizen on a fixed income with all areas of house hold expenses going up including electric and gas property taxes etc will cause us to become totally bankrupt.
