We oppose the Council's decision to impose a £40 charge on residents for collecting green waste. This is an onerous and unnecessary additional charge on hard-pressed residents, and is an underhand way for Brent Council to impose a council tax increase via the back door.
Instead of imposing additional taxes, we urge the Executive to reconsider this proposal, and instead concentrate on reducing their high levels of wasteful spending, and running the Council more efficiently and effectively.

On top of the arguments against the service is appalling. Green bins in our closed are left uncollected for months.
every autumn my green bin is filled with leaves from the trees outside of my house by me because the the council does not clear the leaves. this tax would effectively mean that i am doing the councils job and paying them for the liberty. get your act together Brent council
Why say council tax has been frozen then hit us with this bill!

Please bring back these green buns for free so it encourages people to sort out their waste and recycling

Most houses can't afford it and it has increased the amount of bonfires and people putting garden waste into the grey bin.
