To Government Officials of the Village of Mariemont and the State of Ohio To Whom It May Concern: I have recently learned of the efforts of Operation Safe Connect, a grass-roots organization of concerned Mariemont residents who are working to extend the Little Miami Scenic Trail from Newtown, Ohio into the Village of Mariemont. I whole-heartedly support the construction of the trail, and I applaud the efforts of Operation Safe Connect in our community. The goal of Operation Safe Connect is to connect the village to the trail as cost-effectively as possible while minimizing the loss of green-space and being sensitive to resident\'s needs. The construction of a pedestrian and bicycle-friendly, multi-use trail, linking us to the Little Miami trail, would have an enormously positive impact on Mariemont, enhancing our quality of life, improving the environment, easing traffic congestion, promoting wellness and providing a unique recreational opportunity for residents. The community would benefit from an increased ability to attract and retain a first-class workforce, increased property values, the creation of trail-related tourism and the growth of trailside businesses. I believe that moving forward with this project would send a powerful message that Mariemont is and intends to remain an outstanding place to live with citizens and leadership committed to building for the future. Safely connecting this trail to the Village of Mariemont should be a priority. I support this project, and I ask that you support this project as well.
