We are petitioning to allow non-honors students to have 24 hour access to Alter Hall for studying and academic purposes. As we know the campus has limited studying space, and is not conducive to the amount of students who wish to have more space to study. The only other building open 24 hours is Gallagher, and it is almost impossible to study in there due to noise volume. Having Alter open 24/7, year-round would provide an alternative study space that would be less distracting!
It would also be helpful if the cleaning crew stopped locking classroom doors. There aren't that many spaces anyway so locking more of them is frustrating.
Please please please make this happen! Especially for those who have multiple roommates and that makes for a very loud room and makes it harder to study for finals...
Gallagher is too loud and the library rules are too conservative. Alter is the only place where my study practices can work. I maintain the quietness but Alter's room are amazing for late night studying.
all students deserve the right to study space regardless if they are a c student or an A students.
This would be a much better space than GSC!
We need to accommodate students in the final days before finals.

I usually have to study pretty late at night. Now that Alter is off limits at Midnight, it disrupts my studying and ability to prepare for my exams.
The only other building open 24 hours is Gallagher, and it is almost impossible to study in there due to noise volume. Having Alter open 24/7, year-round would provide an alternative study space that would be less distracting!
