Where does this stop? When a person buys property in Opelika, all they are really doing is agreeing to fund whatever unnecessary project y’all come up with. New libraries, when the original isn’t used and the building isn’t in bad shape. Or building school buildings for each grade. The “leaders” of Opelika have proven they are not good stewards of the moneys they already control.

There is entirely too many houses that are geared towards the rich people. It’s high time that they build houses that people can afford especially if someone is a single income household they don’t have enough money to pay outrageous prices to buy a house. The people who do buy the houses to rent out, they will lose their shirts by going up on the rent. Opelika has better things that they need to be worried about. The rich just keep on getting rich and the poor just keeps on getting poorer.

This is stupid typical gov’t over reach. My tenants have all been with me 5+ years. If this becomes law I will immediately double the rent which will make these people who are now happy, homeless.
