so they have deicded to up the price of car insurance next month this is a joke!lets get our voices out there and stop them doing this!! there is 60+ age in the dail paying 300€ and were getting quotes of 5000€!! this is discrimination!! please sign this so we can try get brought down!!

We reached 100 signatures this morning. I am finalizing a formal letter to the insurance regulatory board to request a review of these pricing practices. I have scheduled a meeting with a local reporter to discuss the impact of these premium hikes on our community.

I have spent the last few days compiling the feedback provided in the comments to include in a formal briefing document. This summary will be sent directly to the insurance oversight committee later this week to highlight the specific impact of these proposed rate hikes.

This a joke it's not to bad for people in towns and citys who still have local transport if they can't afford insurance but when you make your way down the country it's very limited supply to get anywhere unless you have your own transport your dependent on others
Insurance should be affordable to all young and old even to put a name driver down now cost a fortune so parents arent putting there children on their policies i no i cant afford to put my children on mine
Discrimination on the grounds of ageism. Also raising insurance premiums on the grounds of a car being too old is utterly stupid. Insurance companies argue it's down to 'older cars being less safe' .We have an NCT annually which should counter this ridiculous claim
How can young people be expected to pay out between 3 and 9k Euro for car insurance I'm on the road 3 years with no claims and I'm paying over 2k I got quoted last month for €9K on a vw bora how can that be justified ?
Im only 17 and getting quoted €5000+ on a 1 litre polo 2000 which only cost ¼ after tax and few bits and pieces for nct , its an absolute disgrace as im a student so how am i possibly able to afford it.

3600 for a 22 year old with a full licience. Appretice electrician wage 12000 pa Thats a quarter of my years wage before tax and nct tyres petrol ect
