On My Way to Philly

Since 1986 stationed in Norfolk Va, (USN) till now I still remain Homesick due to lack of Brotherly Loves direction on 95, less more it's Existence... Let's GO, Pa State Reps, erect Phila signs!!!!!!? I'm a disabled veteran, and would love to See Phila signs in Maryland since traveling 95 north for 30 years my eyes can't rely on Gps, my ears can't rely on technology, PHILADELPHIA 95 north is sufficient.. Population Philadelphia 1.5 MILLION; Population Baltimore 622,104 You've got it mixed up!

Put a Philadelphia sign on I95 in MD.

I was driving up from Virginia back in September and noticed this. It's a travesty there is no Philadelphia sign. New York is like 200 miles from Baltimore!

I just drove from Baltimore to Philly burbs Tuesday, saw sign for NY on I-95 and thought WTF?

Absolutely Amazing, you commenced this Loong overdue campaign. The last decade of conducting moving contracts (Maryland to Philly or Relocating customers from D.C to Boston) in which myself and moving team feel homesick due 2 no phila signs

I've bored friends by ranting about this for years too :) There ought to be more love between Baltimore and Philly, so adding Philly to Maryland's signs seems appropriate.

I always felt the same way when traveling from DC to Philly. You mean to tell me they have not replaced those signs since the 1960s.

As Mayor Nutter said, "no more a city between DC and NYC."

Been driving back and forth from Washington for years. always wondered why there was no sign for Philadelphia. Let's give Philly it's due!!!

I noticed that from Maryland on 95 that they say nothing about Philadelphia and i want Philadelphia to be know everywhere.

TIME to put the Birthplace of American Democracy on the Road signs

I'm originally from eastern PA but live just outside DC in Maryland, and also work in transportation. The whole sign thing (which is due to Maryland DOT's representatives on the AASHTO sign/MUTCD committee) is just another example of what I call the "Maryland Morons" (believe me, there are a lot of them). So yeah, Maryland should change their signs on I-95 North to say "Philadelphia" or at least "Philadelphia" (top row) and "New York" (bottom row) once one gets to the Baltimore area, and arguably the north of the DC area. (There are some "Baltimore" and "New York" overhead signs between DC and Baltimore, such as at the interchange for I-95 and I-495 northeast of DC.) The funny (or sad) thing about the Maryland Morons involved with AASHTO/MUTCD signage is that they have more secondary signage for Richmond going south on I-95 between Baltimore and Washington than they do for Philadelphia going north on I-95 between Washington and Baltimore. I mean, I like Richmond (really, it's actually a pretty nice city IMO), but it's nowhere near as important as Philadelphia in the general scheme of things.

Birthplace and best city in USA! Put it on the traffic signs now!

I have had the same thoughts about this issue for the last 5 years I have lived in Philadelphia. I am happy to sign this petition and to see this conversation begin to gain traction.

Born in Philly, finished high school in Philly, travel to and from Philly every month, we need our signs! The New York signs can be posted for those heading north as they depart Philly!

As a native Philadelphian that lives in the DC area I often wonder this very thing...not sure anybody ever sets out and says "lets go to Wilmington today"...add Philly to the signs.
