Sign the petition: I-95 north from Baltimore goes through America's birthplace first. The highway signs should say so.

I moved to Philly 13 years ago for a job. The job ended after 2 years, but I had fallen in love with the city, so I never left. The birthplace of the nation deserves more respect than to be left off of signs on the interstate.

I find this approach by M-DOT to be confusing for drivers. There is plenty of room on that sign to read: Wilmington-Philadelphia-NY. This is a dangerous disservice to drivers not familiar with the geography of the northeast.

Really, it is inaccurate and misleading that the signage in Maryland does not indicate that the 5th largest city in the US, our first capital, and the birthplace of our nation is the next major city on the route!

Philly native here after too long in north Jersey. Philly has been the Rodney Dangerfield of cities as long as I can remember ( I'm 76) and it has peeved me my whole life. This road sign epitomizes this and must be changed.

Visit? We live here! This is a city we chose now that we're empty nesters and retired. We've lived near New York and Atlanta, and in downtown Baltimore. Then we lived in the Philly suburbs for 12 years. We enjoyed all those areas, but downtown Philadelphia is the best!

Philadelphia is my home. I love this city, but more than that, it just makes sense. I've always wondered why this major American city is not marked on road signs of the largest north-south highway on the Eastern seaboard.

instead putting NY on i 95 in Baltimore put Philadelphia instead it's like putting a sign for Richmond on i 95 in Philadelphia

Now that I-95 is complete between Philadelphia and New York, Maryland State officials need to change the Control City of the I-95 North signs that are north of Baltimore to Philadelphia. To model after I-70 in the Midwest, New York signs should not appear until just before the I-295/I-495/I-95 split south of Wilmington. If you should mileage to New York. Show the mileage to Philadelphia. PennDOT changed all of the control city signs on I-95 North (north of downtown Philadelphia) from Trenton to New York.
