Now that I-95 is complete between Philadelphia and New York, Maryland State officials need to change the Control City of the I-95 North signs that are north of Baltimore to Philadelphia. To model after I-70 in the Midwest, New York signs should not appear until just before the I-295/I-495/I-95 split south of Wilmington. If you should mileage to New York. Show the mileage to Philadelphia. PennDOT changed all of the control city signs on I-95 North (north of downtown Philadelphia) from Trenton to New York.

I'm really confused. Why isn't this already so?

Philadelphia is a major city, the birthplace of American independence and should be on the signs on I95 north out of baltimore

It is ridiculous that those signs skip over Philly.

My wife and I always asked the same question every time we hit I95. Let's see Philly on I95!

You can't just ignore the 5th biggest city in the country, Maryland. No one's going to New York anyway.

For many years past, we have commented on exactly the same issue when traveling home to Philly from Florida, Baltimore. It's nice to know other people feel the same way we do.

My husband and I laughed when we read Mike Newall's article. We feel the same way about the lack of signs to Philadelphia. We're signing!

The NJ Turnpike South is also lacking Philly signs!

always thought this should be rectified. Philly is a world class city and should be recognized accordingly.

I read Mike Newall's article about this in the Sunday Inquirer and agree 100%! I've always wondered why Phila was overlooked on the I-95 signage.

Hope this happens.

I have no idea how the Maryland department of transportation *ever* decided that the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution were written isn't worth mentioning on a road sign!!! Anyway --- saying "Oops - sorry we made a mistake - but that's it" doesn't cut it. This particular mistake *needs* to be fixed.

Finally, someone tired of Philly being ignored! Philly was here first, so give them the attention they deserve.
