Dear reader, This petition concerns an issue of access to healthcare. For 5, 760 of the residents of Kensington Market/Chinatown area, Chinese is the home language (Statistics Canada, 2008). Over 3,000 of the residents here have no knowledge of either English or French; the number one new immigrant population is here is from "Eastern Asia" (Statistics Canada, 2008). This petition is in support of a Chinese version of the OHIP (Health Card/Coverage) application package for Chinese immigrants coming to Toronto. No one should have to forego health coverage because of a language barrier, please show your support by signing.
