The council has officially approved the off-leash area at Timbrell Park and I am honestly stunned that we pulled this off together. This win belongs entirely to those of you who spoke up and kept pushing for a better space for our dogs. Please keep an eye on the park …

I checked the total this morning and saw we hit 250 signatures. This really belongs to all of you because I never thought this would gain this much momentum on its own.

I am a person with limited mobility and am no longer able to walk my dog for any appreciable length of time. I would benefit from a local off-leash park, as I can let my dog run and play with other dogs for exercise.

This proposal is workable for everyone. It's not interfering with sports or playground users and gives a six month trial where everyone can give their feedback. This open space is perfect for off-leash exercise and for community connection in the great outdoors. Helps support Livvi's Cafe at the park too! Win-win.

Canada Bay Council caters for so many different groups- cyclists, pedestrians, sporting clubs, children but shows very limited support for dog owners who make up a substantial porportion of the local community. Giving local dogs a space to socialize & play is much in need in this area.

Makes such sense to utilize this park as a free run for dogs - the owners would love this! I am not a dog owner but can see the sense in this! Please make this available and keep dogs off city streets!

Timbrall park is the perfect area for responsible off leash dogs & owners. Lots of open space away from roads & pedestrians. The sporting fields are only in use late afternoons & weekends which means most of the time the park is empty. The area has such limited areas for off lead dogs it really needs this.

As someone who works from home I often walk my dog during the day for a break and the park is always empty! My dog needs space to run freely at the park and options locally are limited for this. Never had a problem in the years living here. Lets make it off-leash.

Plenty of room for everyone, and the playground is already thoroughly fenced, so there's one common objection already fixed (I have small children too)
