Richmond Council have put the current tennis development program up for tender, meaning that next year, it will be owned by a different organisation. This organisation is likely to be a large sports leisure company. Prices would almost certainly increase and Philip Lamb's coaching position at Old Deer Park, would be uncertain. Philip Lamb started coaching at Old Deer Park in 2009 and has grown his own coaching program since then. Participants have increased year upon year with more than 500 players taking lessons with Philip each year. Philip also runs LTA matchplay tournaments every week allowing local players to compete at affordable prices. Philip is putting in a bid to manage the tennis coaching program at Old Deer Park himself. Philip would not be looking to alter the current set up and wants to keep prices affordable for his players. Managing the program will allow Philip greater flexibility to run courses and offer new services to his players. Please sign this petition to try to help Philip win the Old Deer Park tender.

My kids have improved so much since training with Phil. He makes tennis accessible and fun for everyone. It would be a huge mistake to replace him with a big leisure company just to hike up prices.

Phil has put so much heart into this program. Richmond council needs to see that we want a community coach not some cold corporate company taking over. Leave it as it is!
