the college finally responded and we got the outcome we were fighting for. i cant thank you enough for sticking with this because we really forced their hand. stay tuned and keep checking the page while we make sure they actually follow through with these changes.

Student athletes learn character, teamwork and grit that shapes their lives, and apply these to their academic learning also. Who I am today is in part, a half a denture later, shaped by Oxy football and rugby(both hall of fame teams). Don't take that opportunity away from future generations.
It is stunning that at a time when small colleges all over the country are either reviving or adding football programs (presumably to attract the 100 males at $50k per), Oxy has allowed a rogue AD to decimate their storied football program.
My son came to Oxy to play football and make great friends while getting an excellent education for his future. Please don't let his passion to play football die. We came to Oxy under the guise the football program was intact. Don't let us down.
I played there for three years and coached there for three more. Program fell apart when an inept AD fired Coach Widolff for no real reason.
Occidental baseball alumnus class of 1992. Sports were a HUGE part of my experience at Oxy. To forfeit a football game with 36 healthy bodies..... Never should happen!!!
Shameful rudderless ship under the current Admin. Broken promises that weren't intended to be kept. David Harding

I fully support this petition, and am furious in how our AD has handled the Athletic Department (she had once been heard saying that "football is no longer king", & I believe she must have gone out of her way to bring it down. Disappointed how the President of Oxy has allowed this to happen under his watch!
