The Bylaws of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association were last revised in 2020. This year, NYTHA formed a committee to examine the Bylaws and recommend changes, which now have been reviewed by the NYTHA Board.
The next step in the process requires the Association to affirm the changes by a petition of not less than 75 of its members.
In order to sign the petition, you must be currently licensed as a Thoroughbred owner or trainer by the NYS Gaming Commission and be a member in good standing of the NYTHA.
We, the undersigned, approve of the plan of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association to amend its current Bylaws.

I have been hearing from many of you about the specific sections in these proposed amendments. It is clear that we all want an organization that reflects the reality of our work on the backstretch today. Please continue to reach out as we move toward the final count needed to send this to the board.

Seeing this level of engagement reminds me how much we all care about the future of our association. We have built some incredible momentum and it proves that our community is ready to see these necessary changes take hold.

FINALLY. Keep it moving.
The suggested ammended Bylaws are a modernized version, consistent with the approach to ammended Bylaws I have helped effect in other organizations.
Definitely needs a refresh. Im on board with these changes.
Long overdue. The 2020 version just doesnt cut it for how we do business these days.
Checked the redline and it seems like a big step in the right direction for all of us.
