The feedback I keep getting from people who have visited the gallery reflects the same anger I felt when I first heard the news. I am currently working on a formal letter to the administration regarding their cowardice. They think we will eventually go quiet once the media cycle shifts but they are wrong.

Seeing this level of support for David’s work has been overwhelming. It proves that we refuse to let the gallery bury his legacy because of political intimidation.

Censorship is a slippery slope. David Wojnarowicz is an important artist and Hide/Seek is incomplete without this work. restore it now.
Art shouldnt be censored just because some people dont like what they see. Put the video back where it belongs.
Total joke. Art is meant to challenge us not get hidden away when it upsets a few loud people. Shame on the Smithsonian.
Sick of politics ruining art. Keep the art on the walls and stop bowing down to pressure groups.
Are we living in the dark ages? This is pathetic. Never going back to that gallery until they stop acting like cowards.
