Please sign our petition for disapproval if you live in Steiner and please send to your neighbors and other Steiner residents! A request for a variance has been submitted by developers wishing to build a multi-family apartment complex and storage units at the front of the neighborhood. The hearing is on October 18th! However, there was a previous one in September that NO ONE showed up for as most of us were unaware of these plans! The request is case# C8J-2011-0053.0A from Crocker Consultants. You can watch a replay of the hearing here (...click on 5B over on the right): http://austintx.swagit.com/play/10052011-1306 Details: There is an applicant is proposing a four-lot subdivision with a total of 81.34 acres of land at the intersection of North Quinlan Park Rd and 620. They have requested a variance to allow a private street to cross a critical water quality zone, which essentially clears the path for them to build Storage Facilities in Steiner. Additionally, per the application, there is a second set of them off Steiner Blvd (see link). http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/edims/document.cfm?id=157953 There is a hearing on Oct 18th to discuss the matter and we would like to obtain signatures from 75% of the Steiner residents who do not wish to see our pristine master planned community embedded with such businesses.

The traffic at 620 is already a nightmare. Why would they add more apartments right there? Leave it alone.

Ridiculous that they tried to sneak this through without telling anyone living here. Glad someone caught it.

NO MORE STORAGE UNITS. We have enough around here already. Keep Steiner residential.

Water quality should be priority one. Do not let them build over the zone.

We moved here for the neighborhood feel not to be surrounded by massive storage units. Terrible idea.
