It has been brought to our attention that there is a proposed development of a major truck service centre at the corner of Pinebush Road and Townline Road in Cambridge (the Florida Travel Centre has been sold and will be demolished). We are creating the following petition for those of you would like to join us in protesting a service centre of this nature being constructed at this location. This petition is not to imply that we don't want this "in our backyard"; however, it is based on the valid reasons outlined below: HEAVY TRAFFIC -There are 4 sets of traffic lights in this area on Townline road. Traffic already backs up on to the off ramp of the 401 onto Townline due to these lights, creating gridlock during peak traffic times. -Increased traffic and slowdowns will adversely affect those companies in the industrial development area -This IS NOT a full "clover leaf" exit and will be inable to safely handle the increased traffic from transport companies. SAFETY ISSUES -increased noise, slowdowns and safety issues for the near by housing developments.
